Welcoming a new baby is one of life’s most beautiful transitions. From preparing for birth to settling into those first sleepy days at home, the journey into parenthood is filled with moments you’ll want to remember forever — and plenty of moments when a little extra support can make all the difference. As a Minneapolis newborn photographer serving Edina and the surrounding Twin Cities, I believe supporting growing families goes beyond the photographs we create together. It’s also about helping parents feel connected to their community and confident as they navigate this new season of life.
Whether you’re expecting your first baby or adding another little one to your family, I’ve gathered a few local resources to help you prepare for birth, find your community, care for yourself postpartum, and preserve the fleeting newborn days.
Consider this your guide to a few wonderful resources for expecting and new parents in the Minneapolis and Edina area.
Preparing for birth can bring a mix of excitement, anticipation, and questions. Having knowledgeable support throughout pregnancy and childbirth can help you feel more informed and confident as you prepare to meet your baby.
The Confident Mama offers birth doula support, childbirth education, and personalized birth coaching for families throughout the Twin Cities. Their approach centers around helping parents understand their options, prepare for labor, and feel supported throughout their individual birth journeys.
Whether you’re creating a birth plan, learning comfort measures, or simply hoping to feel more prepared for the unknowns of labor, childbirth education can be such a valuable part of preparing for your growing family.
If you’re expecting a baby in Minneapolis, Edina, or the surrounding Twin Cities area, The Confident Mama is a wonderful resource to explore as you prepare for birth.

The newborn stage is beautiful, but it can also feel like a world of new experiences all at once. Between feeding schedules, sleep questions, and adjusting to life with a baby, having a supportive community can make such a difference.
Located in Edina, Amma Parenting Center offers education and support for families throughout pregnancy and early parenthood. Their offerings include childbirth and newborn education, feeding support, and parent-and-baby classes designed to help families learn and connect.
Programs for new moms and dads provide opportunities to ask questions, build confidence, and connect with other parents experiencing similar milestones.
For families who are new to the area — or simply hoping to meet other parents in the same season of life — finding a community can be one of the most meaningful parts of the transition into parenthood.

While so much of the focus during pregnancy is understandably on preparing for baby’s arrival, it’s equally important to consider your own physical well-being throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
I had a great experience working with this clinic after my twin birth, which makes it one I’m especially happy to share with other local moms.
i-Health Pelvic Health Therapy in Edina provides specialized pelvic health physical therapy, including care for pregnancy-related concerns and postpartum recovery. Their program includes support related to pelvic floor function, core stabilization, strength, mobility, and other individual pelvic health needs.
For parents navigating the physical changes that accompany pregnancy and birth, a qualified pelvic health physical therapist can help assess individual needs and create an appropriate care plan.
It’s such an important reminder that postpartum care isn’t only about caring for your newborn — it’s about caring for yourself, too.

Having access to trusted healthcare professionals is an important part of the journey into motherhood, from pregnancy and postpartum follow-up to ongoing women’s health needs.
This one is especially personal for me. Not only did I work with this group of physicians as an RN, but I also received my care with them during my twin pregnancy. Every doctor and staff member I worked with was fantastic, and I can speak to the level of care both from my perspective at the bedside and as a patient myself. And a special shoutout to my favorite, Dr. Suzin Cho!
Almara Women’s Health Hub in Edina brings together a range of women’s healthcare services, including maternal-fetal medicine, primary care, urogynecology, lactation support, and additional specialty care.
For families looking for local healthcare resources during pregnancy and beyond, Almara is another organization worth exploring. Its multidisciplinary approach gives women access to a variety of services throughout different stages of life and motherhood.

Those first days with a newborn have a way of feeling both incredibly long and impossibly short. One moment you’re memorizing tiny fingers and sleepy stretches, and before you know it, your baby has changed in ways you can hardly believe.
That’s why I love being a Minneapolis newborn photographer.
As a Minneapolis newborn photographer serving Edina and the surrounding Twin Cities, my goal is to create timeless, heartfelt photographs that preserve the details and connections you’ll want to remember long after the newborn stage has passed.
My photography style is bright, natural, and timeless, with a focus on genuine connection and all the little details that make your family yours. Whether it’s the way your baby curls into your arms, the quiet moments between feedings, or the joy of watching an older child become a big sibling, these early days deserve to be remembered.
My approach is designed to give families a relaxed, stress-free experience. With my Edina studio, a Client Closet filled with postpartum-friendly dresses, and my background as a Pediatric RN, I want you to feel confident knowing both you and your little one are being thoughtfully cared for throughout your session.

I recommend reaching out during pregnancy to reserve your newborn session. Many families choose to photograph their babies within the first few weeks after birth, when those tiny newborn details are still so fresh.
We’ll plan around your due date and work together to find a suitable session date once your little one arrives.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before your session. Your baby doesn’t need to follow a perfect schedule, and your family doesn’t need to arrive with every detail in place. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and cared for while we document this season just as it is.
If you’re searching for a Minneapolis newborn photographer or Edina newborn photographer, I’d love to help you preserve these fleeting days.

The transition into parenthood is filled with so many firsts. As you prepare to welcome your baby, I hope these local resources help you find the education, care, and community you need to feel supported throughout the journey.
From childbirth education and postpartum wellness to connecting with other new parents and documenting your baby’s earliest days, you don’t have to navigate every part of this season alone.
And when you’re ready to preserve those tiny details, new connections, and the feeling of holding your baby in your arms, I’d be honored to help tell your family’s story.
Here’s to the beautiful, messy, fleeting, unforgettable days of new parenthood.
